Nao’s Pottery Experiences

Come to Kumagawa-juku and have a relaxing time creating a piece of pottery with master potter Nao Tobinaga! Take a short time to paint a piece of pottery or start from scratch to make your own personalized piece.

Experience #1: 絵付け (えつけ) Painting

Take a quick break and add your own flare to a piece of Kumagawa pottery.

• Cost: 1,320 ~ 1,650 yen (tax included) + shipping

• Color: White
• *It takes about one month until your piece is ready to ship.

Experience #2: 作陶 (さくとう) Pottery Making

Take clay and your potter's wheel and make your unique and wholly personal piece of pottery.

• Cost: 2,750 yen (tax included) + shipping
  • Cash, credit card, PayPay
• Time: ~1.5 hours
• Color: Choose between green, black, brown, blue, white, and pink
• Type of pottery: cups, plates, and bowls. *Can discuss with Nao
